The exact release date of NBA 2K20 has been leaked
Posted On 06/14/2019 00:34:58 by robertddelancey

NBA 2K19 provided gamers with an altogether underwhelming experience, forcing the developers into making significant changes in the upcoming release. No official word has been given regarding the exact release date of NBA 2K20, however, a recent leak suggests that it's set to hit stores on September 6.Previous editions of the game were also released in September on a Tuesday which adds credence to this rumour.BR Gaming were the first to report the leak, posting an image of what appears to be a cardboard cutout of the franchise. According to the cut-out, the game is set for a September 6 release.

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade looks to be headed for the cover of a video game.A picture of Wade on the cover of the NBA 2K20 Legends Edition has been circulating Twitter, suggesting that he’ll be the face of the upcoming game. Wade would be a fitting cover to such a video game, which is said to be released on Sept. 6, 2019. A 13-time All-Star, Wade retired at the end of the 2018-19 season following a 16-year career.

Of course, like any leak, this should be taken with a grain of salt. However, everything here seems to check out. For one, Dwayne Wade on the Legends Edition cover isn't very surprising, and September 6 is a Tuesday. Not only does the series typically release in early September, but it also typically releases on Tuesdays. Aside from a leaked release date, the cutout also features the cover athlete for the Legend Edition, and it’s no other than Miami Heat‘s Dwyane Wade. With the 13-time All-Star retiring at the end of this season, it definitely seems like a fitting tribute to one of the greatest shooting guards on the court.

Overall, this is a believable concept since Wade is an all-time great who just completed his final season in the NBA. Wade has never been a cover athlete for 2K, although the prime of his career ran through the series' rise to prominence. I initially thought it might be possible Wade, and Dallas Mavericks great Dirk Nowitzki, who also retired, might share a Legend's Edition cover. Instead, it looks as if it will be Wade going solo.
