Saudi Arabia problems new visas in tourism push

Royal Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud, chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, said that from this season Saudi would problem ‘Umrah-Plus’ visas, which would allow monitored other sites to those visiting the country on Islamic pilgrimages.The conservative Gulf kingdom, which is home to Islam’s two holiest mosques, currently does not problem  tourist visas to tourists.The 30 days lengthy visa can also be used for travel,” Royal prince Sultan said on the side lines of a meeting in Dubai. “What modified is that we’re now shifting to Islamic record sites to get back those to make them more satisfactory and to make museums and experiences.”

Prince Sultan included that the Saudi govt was making an investment “a lot of money” in developing and improving about 30 museums and Islam-themed destinations in Makkah and Medinah.Last season the nation saw tourism earnings increase 10% to SR61.8bn, almost all which is resulting from Islamic pilgrimages and guests from other GCC countries, who do not need Saudi Arabia visa.Royal prince Sultan said that tourism was also a significant factor to the nation's initiatives to improve career among Saudi nationals. “Tourism is the second most Saudiazed financial industry, with 28%. That is big for a industry that is new and has not yet been completely supported,” he included. “We’re serious about creating tourism a significant gamer in the financial system and also in job development, and maintaining  Saudis in Saudi Arabic.”
