ISLAMABAD: All the participants of the All Parties Conference (APC), called by the Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, agreed on Thursday on attaining peace through dialogue as the first priority and resolving the issue of terrorism in accordance with the Constitution, law, security and sovereignty of the country.

They also agreed to negotiate with those Taliban militants who were ready to accept the law and Constitution. At least, 26 political parties and lawyers’ organisations participated in the conference held in the federal capital.

Participants of the APC also agreed upon the point that peace needed to be restored in the country so that loss of valuable lives could be stopped and the country could be put on the right track for economic and social development.

The conference appreciated the efforts of the grand tribal Jirga for restoration of peace in Fata. It demanded the central and provincial governments announce aid packages for relatives of victims of terrorism. The conference demanded giving priority to problems being faced by the people displaced because of terrorism and ensure restoration of peace so that the affected people could go back to their homes with honour and dignity.
